Today the Crowdmap team is pleased to announce support for Twitter Cards, a great new way of attaching valuable information about your deployment and reports to tweets. Beginning its roll out on Twitter today, tweets that link to Crowdmap deployments will have a new summary card appear beneath them, containing the title of the deployment or report, a description of its content, and a static map indicating its geographical relevance. twitter cards These summaries will appear in both the web and mobile versions of Twitter, once rolled out to your account. This is a zero-configuration feature and requires nothing on your part to activate. It’s baked in and waiting for your tweets, so get out there! We’d like to thank Twitter for their support in getting this up and running so rapidly, and we look forward to expanding on this and announcing further integration in the near future. [Note: Twitter cards will be included in a later release of the Ushahidi platform. This feature was not included in the 2.5 code release.]
