Screen Shot 2013-10-25 at 7.25.27 AM Yesterday Ushahidi team members and friends continued our series of Google Hangouts on data ethics. You can find Part 1 here. The conversation brought together experts from a wide variety of fields working to use data to create social change. A recording of the conversation is available here. The discussion touched upon a number of topics relating to the ethical use of data, from anonymity to the responsibility of toolmakers. However, one major point, to which all of the participants largely agreed, was that there currently exists a real dearth of resources available on data ethics for social good. That is, it is largely undiscovered country. We hope you will find the conversation useful to your own work. In the future, we plan on having more Google Hangouts on this and similar topics. Stay tuned!
